Overview

This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of rosuvastatin, a new statin, in lowering LDL cholesterol in hypercholesterolemic patients. Rosuvastatin was found to significantly reduce LDL cholesterol in a dose-dependent manner, with approximately 90% of LDL cholesterol reduction occurring within the first 2 weeks of treatment. Rosuvastatin was well tolerated and had no significant adverse events.
