Overview

A 15-year-old male with severe acute infectious mononucleosis was successfully treated with famciclovir. The patient experienced fever, malaise, lymphadenopathy, and hepatosplenomegaly for 6 weeks. After 72 hours of famciclovir treatment, the patient became afebrile and showed significant improvement in his symptoms.
