Overview

Prolonged use of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) is linked to insulin resistance. This study investigated the protective effects of black seed oil (BSO) in rats treated with HAART. BSO was found to reduce hyperinsulinemia and prevent the reduction of pancreatic islet size observed in HAART-treated rats.
