Overview

Iloperidone is a new atypical antipsychotic medication approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. The tolerability profile of iloperidone is noteworthy in terms of modest weight gain, no medically important changes in lipid and glucose levels, little in the way of prolactin elevation, and absence of extrapyramidal side effects. However, iloperidone can prolong the QTc interval on electrocardiogram.
