Overview

Ephedra pachyclada (EP) is a traditional medicinal herb with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This study investigated the hepatoprotective effects of EP extract on mouse models of carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute and chronic liver failure. The results showed that EP extract significantly reduced liver injury parameters, including liver weight, necrosis, fibrosis, inflammation, and serum AST and ALT levels. These findings suggest that EP may protect the liver against CCl4-induced injury by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.
