Overview

Olanzapine monotherapy, olanzapine-fluoxetine combination, quetiapine-IR and -XR, lurasidone monotherapy, and lurasidone adjunctive therapy were more effective than placebo in treating bipolar depression, with response rates of 50% or greater. However, these atypical antipsychotics were also associated with a higher risk of discontinuation due to adverse events (DAEs).
