Overview

Tioguanine (TG) was tolerable and effective in 52 patients with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) or AIH variant syndromes who had previously failed on azathioprine (AZA) or mercaptopurine (MP). TG was effective in 83% of patients who continued therapy after intolerable side effects on AZA or MP and was effective in 64% of patients who had an insufficient response to AZA or MP.
