Overview

Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) has a poor prognosis. While high-dose chemotherapy (HDC) did not improve survival in larger studies, Viscum album extracts (VAE), also known as European mistletoe, are used by many cancer patients. VAE may improve quality of life, reduce chemotherapy side effects, and have synergistic cytotoxic and proliferation-inhibiting effects when combined with chemotherapy.
