A systematic review of 24 studies involving over 40,000 psoriasis patients receiving biological treatment documented nearly 1,000 cases of skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs). Most SSTIs were reported in patients treated with TNF-α inhibitors. Despite these reports, biological treatment appears to be a safe mode of therapy for psoriasis.
