Overview

Isoflurane anesthesia led to a modest and transient change in the architecture of nocturnal sleep in healthy volunteers. Slow wave sleep was suppressed, and Stage 2 sleep increased on the first postanesthetic night. Daytime napping did not affect nocturnal sleep.
