Overview

Secondary cataracts are a common complication of modern retinoblastoma treatments. Cataract surgery in these patients resulted in improved fundus visibility in all cases and improved vision in 73% of cases. While intraocular recurrence was low (6%) and extraocular spread was rare (<1%), challenges included biometry limitations and a high incidence of zonulopathy.
