Original Abstract of the Article :
The ongoing pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) requires treatments with rapid clinical translatability. Here we develop a multi-target and multi-ligand virtual screening method to identify FDA-approved drugs with potential activity against SARS-CoV-2 at t...See full text at original site

In Silico Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 Proteins as Targets for Clinically Available Drugs
The field of [drug repurposing] plays a crucial role in responding to emerging health threats like the [COVID-19 pandemic]. This study used a [multi-target and multi-ligand virtual screening method] to identify [FDA-approved drugs] with potential activity against [SARS-CoV-2] proteins. The researchers identified [17 'high-confidence' and 97 'medium-confidence' drug-site pairs], suggesting potential targets for drug repurposing.
Potential Drug Targets for SARS-CoV-2
This study provides a valuable resource for [drug repurposing efforts] in the fight against COVID-19. The identified [drug-site pairs] suggest potential avenues for [rapidly evaluating existing medications] for their effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2.
The Importance of Drug Repurposing
Just as a desert traveler might use a tool for multiple purposes, [drug repurposing] allows us to leverage existing knowledge and resources to develop new treatment strategies. This approach can accelerate the development of [effective treatments] for emerging diseases like COVID-19.
Dr.Camel's Conclusion
The search for effective treatments for COVID-19 continues. This study provides a valuable roadmap for [drug repurposing efforts], highlighting promising candidates for further investigation and potential clinical trials. By exploring [existing medications] for new applications, we can potentially find solutions to pressing health challenges.
