Overview

This study investigated the in vitro antiviral effects of Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort) and Echinacea against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). H. perforatum, Echinacea, and a mixture of both showed significant antiviral effects. Molecular simulation analysis identified several potent bioactive compounds. Further clinical trials are needed to validate these findings.
