Overview

This case report describes a gentleman in his early 60s with a liver abscess who presented with altered sensorium, abnormal gait, and slurring of speech after three weeks of metronidazole therapy. MRI brain revealed bilateral symmetrical hyperintensities suggestive of metronidazole-induced encephalopathy (MIE).
