Overview

A combination therapy of Pterocephalodes hookeri and Onosma hookeri (P-O) demonstrated antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and in vivo. P-O treatment reduced pulmonary inflammation in a mouse model by reducing edema and leakage of lung microvasculature, improving lung tissue pathology, and regulating cytokine levels. Network pharmacology analysis revealed the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway as a key mechanism of action. This study provides evidence for the clinical application of P-O in treating pneumonia.
