Major research findings

Three studies on the effects of dipyridamole on platelet function found that dipyridamole can inhibit platelet aggregation, but the effects vary depending on dosage and administration method. 2 showed significant inhibition of platelet aggregation in response to both collagen and ADP one hour after a single dose (150/200mg) of dipyridamole. However, no detectable effect on aggregation was observed at other time points or with lower doses. Furthermore, multiple doses (150/200mg twice daily for 11 days) had no detectable effect on platelet aggregation. 1 demonstrated a synergistic effect of combining dipyridamole and aspirin on platelet function inhibition.
