Main Research Findings

Ivermectin is an FDA-approved drug for treating parasites in animals and for treating intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis in humans orally, and for treating ectoparasites and skin conditions topically. 1

Ivermectin is known to be effective in treating scabies, demodicosis, cutaneous larva migrans, and chorioptic mange, among other skin conditions. 7 , 18 , 25 , 24 , 20 , 14 , 3 , 4 , 22 , 23 , 9 , 16 , 10 , 32 , 11 , 13 , 33 , 2 , 21 , 15

Some research has shown that ivermectin is effective in treating scabies, either alone or in combination with other treatments. 18 , 22 , 21 , 16 , 28 , 33

Ivermectin has also been used to treat rosacea, demodicosis, and acne vulgaris. 6 , 34 , 3 , 5

Ivermectin has been shown to be effective in treating demodicosis when applied topically to the skin. 34 , 3
