Overview

Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are used in ophthalmology to treat various diseases with high specificity. Bevacizumab and ranibizumab (anti-VEGF), infliximab, etanercept, and adalimumab (anti-TNF) are FDA-approved mAbs for angiogenic and inflammatory ocular diseases. Other mAbs show promising results for ocular lymphoma or inflammation, and their role in ophthalmology will be determined by future clinical trials.
