Overview

A recently discovered thioether variant in commercially available recombinant human growth hormone (r-hGH) preparations was found in 6 out of 8 lots. This variant showed a significantly reduced in vivo biopotency and altered receptor-binding properties compared with a control. The variant may be generated during the manufacturing process and may require further investigation for its clinical efficacy and safety.
