Overview

Duloxetine, an α-blocker medication, and a saw palmetto extract were found to be effective in improving clinical symptoms, psychologic status, and quality of life for patients with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) over 16 weeks. The treatment group (duloxetine + α-blocker + saw palmetto) showed significant improvement in pain, quality of life, and overall NIH-CPSI score compared to the control group (α-blocker + saw palmetto). However, 20% of patients in the treatment group discontinued the study due to adverse effects.
