Overview

The Glasgow Antipsychotic Side-Effects Scale for Clozapine (GASS-C) showed good reliability and validity in a clinical population of patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Side effects were reported by 36% of patients, with drowsiness, thirst, frequent urination, and dry mouth being the most common. Women reported more side effects than men, and patients in a relationship reported more side effects than those not in a relationship. There was a weak positive correlation between the severity of side effects and clozapine dose.
