Searching for the Perfect Adjuvant for an Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae Vaccine
Protecting against bacterial infections is a constant challenge in the world of veterinary medicine. This study focused on finding the optimal adjuvant for an inactivated vaccine against Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, a bacterium that can cause serious infections in pigs and other animals. The researchers evaluated the effectiveness of various adjuvants, including mineral oil, aluminum hydroxide gel, and water-soluble polymers, in boosting the immune response to the inactivated E. rhusiopathiae antigen.
GEL: A Promising Adjuvant for E. rhusiopathiae Vaccine
Through a series of experiments in mice and piglets, the study identified GEL02, a water-soluble polymer, as the most effective adjuvant for the inactivated vaccine against E. rhusiopathiae.
