Overview

This study evaluates the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of 22 vaccine formulations containing protein fragments from leptospiral β-barrel outer membrane proteins (βb-OMPs) in a hamster model of leptospirosis. While several formulations induced significant humoral immune responses, only four constructs induced significant protection in two independent experiments, suggesting that the hamster model may not be ideal for evaluating leptospirosis vaccines.
