Overview

Leflunomide showed promise as a treatment option for refractory lupus nephritis (LN). In a study of 20 patients, leflunomide achieved a response rate of 80% at 3 months, with a complete response rate of 25% at 6 months. While the complete response rate decreased to 15% at 12 months and 20% at 24 months, leflunomide demonstrated a favorable safety profile. Two patients withdrew due to cytopenia and leucopenia.
