Overview

This case report describes a 69-year-old man with a skin infection caused by the fungus Sporothrix. Treatment with potassium iodide was initially effective, but the infection recurred. Terbinafine therapy successfully treated the infection without side effects. A review of 67 Sporothrix infection cases in Japan suggests that a higher daily dose of terbinafine may be more effective than the standard dose.
