Overview

Topical and oral retinoids are used to treat psoriasis. Tazarotene, a topical receptor-selective retinoid, is effective for treating plaque psoriasis. Oral tazarotene is also effective for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. The most serious side effect of oral tazarotene is teratogenicity.
