Overview

Biological treatments are a newer approach to treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Three medications that block tumor necrosis factor (TNF) -- adalimumab, etanercept, and infliximab -- are approved for RA in Hungary. Rituximab, a medication that targets B cells, is a newer biological treatment that has been used for lymphoma and is now approved for RA in patients who have not responded to TNF blockers.
