Overview

This randomized, double-blind trial compared real acupuncture with placebo acupuncture in 370 patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. Patients received 25 minutes of acupuncture before and after embryo transfer. The placebo acupuncture group had a significantly higher overall pregnancy rate compared to the real acupuncture group (55.1% vs. 43.8%). No significant differences were found in ongoing pregnancy or live birth rates.
