Overview

This systematic review compared the efficacy and safety of intermittent versus daily ICS in the management of children and adults with persistent asthma. There was no statistically significant group difference in the risk of exacerbations requiring oral corticosteroids. Daily ICS was superior to intermittent ICS in several indicators of lung function, airway inflammation, asthma control, and reliever use.
