Overview

Aztreonam (AZT) is a monobactam antibiotic effective against Gram-negative bacteria. In a study of 9 patients with perinatal infections, AZT was effective in 9 cases. AZT transferred to umbilical cord serum and amniotic fluid successfully. No side effects were observed.
