Main Research Findings

Aztreonam is a new monobactam antibiotic that has been shown to be effective against Gram-negative bacteria in various studies. 20 , 22 , 19 , 24 , 18 , 23 , 13 , 14 , 7 , 1 , 21 , 9 , 8 , 16 , 15 , 5 , 12 , 2 , 17 , 11 , 4 , 6 , 3 , 10 These studies have shown that aztreonam is effective in treating various bacterial infections, especially those caused by Gram-negative bacteria.

Reasons for Side Effects

Side effects of aztreonam may occur during the process of drug decomposition in the body. Side effects may also occur when the drug accumulates in specific organs or causes allergic reactions.

Common Side Effects

Diarrhea

Diarrhea has been reported as a side effect of aztreonam. 5 , 6 , 17 Diarrhea may occur due to disruption of the balance of intestinal flora caused by the drug.
