Overview

Astragalus saponins (AST) combined with vinblastine (VBL), a vinca alkaloid, showed synergistic anticancer effects in colon cancer cells. This combination led to reduced proangiogenic and metastatic factors, inhibited cell growth and invasion, and induced cell cycle arrest. In vivo studies showed that AST attenuated the neutropenic and anemic effects of VBL while boosting tumor growth regression.
