Overview

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) comes in six different types (genotypes). Genotype 3 (GT3) is the second most common type worldwide and is considered more difficult to treat than other types. While new medications (direct-acting antivirals, DAAs) have improved treatment success rates for other genotypes, some people with GT3 infection don't respond as well. New DAAs are being developed or are already available that may improve treatment outcomes for people with GT3.
