Overview

This study found that survival rates of breast cancer in the Eastern Mediterranean region are lower than in more developed countries. The estimated survival rates for different periods were: 1 year, 93.9%; 2 years, 85%; 3 years, 79.8%; 4 years, 72.6%; 5 years, 69.2%; 10 years, 55.5%. Higher survival rates were associated with a higher human development index.
