Overview

A combination of handheld narrowband UVB (NB-UVB) and potent topical corticosteroids (TCS) was more effective than TCS alone for treating localized vitiligo, a condition that causes patches of skin to lose pigmentation. In a randomized controlled trial, 27% of participants achieved treatment success with the combination therapy compared to 17% with TCS alone. However, the combination therapy was only successful in around one-quarter of participants.
