Overview

A large-scale, long-term registry-based study in Sweden revealed no increased risk of breast cancer, any cancer, or mortality associated with liothyronine (LT3) use compared to levothyroxine (LT4) use for treating hypothyroidism. In fact, LT3 users showed evidence of lower mortality, although this finding might be related to underlying associations between dose and health status.
