Overview

A single oral 2 g dose of secnidazole was associated with significantly higher microbiological cure rates than placebo in women with trichomoniasis. The cure rates were 92.2% in the secnidazole group and 1.5% in the placebo group. Secnidazole was generally well tolerated, with the most frequently reported treatment-emergent adverse events being vulvovaginal candidiasis and nausea.
