Cue exposure therapy (CET) is as effective as cognitive-behavior therapies (CBTs) for Alcohol Use Disorder, but it does not consistently add to the effects of CBT alone. In-vivo coping skills practice in the presence of powerful alcohol cues remains a viable treatment, especially if a key focus is on skills with wide situational application rather than solely on habituation.
