Overview

Herpes zoster, also known as shingles, is a viral infection caused by the varicella zoster virus. Kidney transplant recipients are at increased risk of developing herpes zoster, and vaccination with the adjuvanted recombinant glycoprotein E subunit herpes zoster vaccine (RZV) is recommended.
