Overview

Trimipramine was more effective than placebo in treating active duodenal ulcers in 45 patients. After 4 weeks, 35% of trimipramine patients had completely healed ulcers and 50% had partially healed ulcers, compared to 21% completely healed and 21% partially healed in the placebo group. There were no side effects.
