Octreotide is a medication used to treat a variety of diseases, including neuroendocrine tumors, acromegaly, and other conditions where hormone levels need to be controlled. Research has shown that octreotide can be effective in treating these diseases. However, various side effects have also been reported. This article summarizes the side effects of octreotide based on previous research results.

Reasons for Side Effects

Octreotide works by binding to somatostatin receptors, which inhibits the secretion of hormones such as growth hormone and insulin. This action is thought to be the cause of octreotide's side effects. 25
