Major Research Findings

Multiple studies have shown that ondansetron is an effective drug for the prevention and reduction of cisplatin-induced nausea and vomiting. 3 , 1 , 2 , 4 Ondansetron has been shown to significantly reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting after single high doses of cisplatin when administered intravenously once daily for 3-5 consecutive days. 3 Ondansetron has also been shown to be significantly superior to placebo in its antiemetic effect. 1 , 2 Furthermore, ondansetron has been shown to be effective when administered orally, providing a more convenient route of administration for patients. 2
