Oseltamivir is commonly used for treating and preventing influenza A and B viral infections. 12 Oseltamivir can improve pulmonary function and reduce exacerbation frequency in influenza-infected children with asthma. 1 However, oseltamivir may have adverse effects on the liver, increasing inflammation and fibrosis. 6 Additionally, oseltamivir can potentially cause hypothermia and neuromuscular effects by inhibiting nicotinic acetylcholine receptor functions. 14 Oseltamivir and amantadine may share similar pharmacological actions that lead to similar neuropsychiatric side effects. 11
