Major Research Findings

Pregabalin is a medication used to treat a variety of conditions, including neuropathic pain, seizures, and anxiety disorders. While pregabalin can be effective for treating these conditions, research suggests it may come with certain side effects.

Studies have indicated that pregabalin can be beneficial for treating neuropathic pain, particularly postherpetic neuralgia. 13 Additionally, pregabalin shows promise in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. 6

However, pregabalin has also been linked to potential cognitive impairment. 1 A study involving healthy volunteers found that pregabalin administration led to cognitive decline. 1
