Overview

HPV vaccines are safe and effective in preventing HPV infections and lesions in women aged 15 to 26 years. In older women, these vaccines generate significantly higher plasma antibodies than natural infection and can prevent up to 90.5% of HPV infections. Given the risk of persistent HPV infection and progression to carcinoma, these vaccines may offer an extra benefit against HPV-related genital diseases in adults.
