[Pathogen distribution and bacterial resistance in children with severe community-acquired pneumonia].

Bacteria are the primary pathogens in children with severe community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), and mixed infections are common. In a study of 522 hospitalized children, 80.3% had pathogens identified, with 45.3% having mixed infections. The most common pathogens were bacterial (54.5%), followed by viral (38.0%), fungal (1.8%), Mycoplasma pneumoniae (2.2%), and Chlamydia trachomatis (3.5%). Drug resistance rates were high for several bacterial pathogens.
