Combating Multidrug-Resistant P. aeruginosa: Nanostructured Lipid Carriers to the Rescue

The battle against [multidrug-resistant P. aeruginosa] is a critical one, and researchers are constantly searching for new weapons in their arsenal. This study presents a promising new approach, utilizing [nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs)] to deliver sodium colistimethate, an antibiotic, to fight this formidable foe. The study meticulously investigated the in vitro and in vivo efficacy and safety of sodium colistimethate-loaded NLCs (SCM-NLCs) against P. aeruginosa. The results revealed that SCM-NLCs displayed significantly lower bacterial counts in the lungs of infected animals compared to saline.
