Overview

A child with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) without atopy or allergic sensitization was successfully treated with conventional therapy including systemic steroids, cetirizine, an anti-leukotriene drug, and dietary restriction. Steroid treatment required a protracted course with very slow tapering. This approach was successful but careful follow-up is necessary due to potential steroid side effects.
