Overview

Four prequalified rotavirus vaccines were found to be similarly effective in preventing severe rotavirus gastroenteritis in high mortality settings in Asia and Africa. Vaccine efficacy ranged from 48% to 57% within the first year and 29% to 54% in the second year. Importantly, none of the vaccines showed an increased risk of intussusception.
