Overview

Intensive lipid-lowering therapy (LLT) reduced the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) by 15% compared to control. The number needed to treat was 56 patients. This was associated with significant reductions in myocardial infarction and stroke. There was a positive effect on cardiovascular mortality but no effect on all-cause mortality.
